i think you have to get the training right through the years as young and as yearlings, i have 11 cocks been to every race this year and they are comining really well, i sent 11 on sat and had 8 in 11 mins from 164 miles doing 64mph before i had to nip out, the team is racing now and its down to endless training at the same place the breaking point.

Hi I need some advice from experienced pigeon owners-- I was told upon buying my pigeons not to let them fly at all during the months of September-May, due to hawk season. I have done research that suggests otherwise. I am very new.to birds-- only birds I've ever owned are chickens! My son is very into them and recently when we did decide to release them from the loft an owl spooked them while out one returned the other did not. I feel now I've done a huge disfavor to them by allowing them to be locked up. My question is I guess when do you fly them, how old should they be.when bought, and are there better types for better regions? Thanks for the info if any-- want to be sure we are going aabout this the right way!
